Overview:

The broad objectives and aims of the Department of Animal Science are:

• To undertake teaching and research work in the field of Animal Science
• To provide consultancy and specialized services
• To serve the society by promoting livestock production, animal health and disease control and public health aspects
• To provide opportunities for future expansion of the department by starting postgraduate degree programmes in Animal Science
  
  Profile of graduates with an M Sc in Animal Production

Core objective of the Department is to produce qualified graduates who can/.could:

• Will be able to initiate and conduct research (identify problems, formulate hypotheses and conduct experiments);
• Generate, disseminate and share this knowledge;
• Understand, manage the animal production systems efficiently and upgrade the existing traditional practices;
• Introduce modern techniques of animal husbandry;
