Overview:
The Department of Public Administration is one of the youngest departments
in the College of Business and Economics. In the academic year of 1998/1999,
the Department started the Bachelors Degree Program in Public Administration
with Minor Options in Political Science, Sociology & Social Work,
or Economics & Finance.
Public Administration as a field of study provides a foundation for
careers in municipal and local government, civil service, public enterprise,
accounts and audit organizations, rural development agencies, and research
and training institutions. Furthermore, the program offers preparation
for graduate studies and participation in research activities.
Public Administration is a growing discipline all over the world. All
levels of government, international organizations, agencies that tackle
poverty and social inequality, and non-government organizations need
experts in Public Administration to analyze, formulate and implement
development policies. The job opportunities for graduates of Public
Administration are widely present in:
- Government Ministries (Public Sector), Municipalities, Corporate
Hospitals and Welfare and Humanitarian Organizations.
- Public Enterprises and Non-Government Organizations
- Central, Regional and Local Government Units
- International Organizations such as the World Bank and United Nations'
Agencies
