The Department of Mathematics offers a four-year program of study leading
to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. The Department pursues
the following objectives:
- To meet the growing needs of organizations - both in private and
government sectors - that require advanced mathematical skill.
- To contribute to national reconstruction through the education
and development of students who have the required competence for
making innovations and propagating knowledge.
- To fulfill the requirements of those who aspire to pursue higher
studies in different disciplines of mathematics.
- To launch postgraduate and research programs in the near future.
Students leave the Mathematics department with a range of valuable
skills, which may be applied to a number of areas. Graduates are trained
to apply optimization techniques to solving problems; to formulate models;
and they may also work in software development. Their skills can be
used in a variety of ministries, industries and both governmental and
