The Advanced Diploma in Public Administration prepares individuals to become skilled and effective middle-level civil servants who can effectively administer organizations and activities in the public interest. Eritrea’s social and economic progress depends on the presence of capable and committed administrators.

After extensive research, the University, together with major government ministries, identified the greatest need for skilled public administrators in the following areas:

• municipal finance
• provision of municipal services
• rural project management
• public revenue administration
• government budgeting
• human resource development and administration

Graduates of this program will be well qualified to assess the needs of the people, to mobilize the public for effective participation, and to select optimal administrative approaches to solve social problems in both rural and urban areas of the country. Important job opportunities exist in the various government organizations of the central government (ministries, commissions, civil service agency and authorities), local government organizations (urban and rural administrations), non-government organizations and international organizations (the United Nations agencies).
