Overview

The Department of Biomedical Science consists of nine separate Departments: Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Medical Physiology, Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Introduction to Pharmacology, Pathology and Histo-Pathology, Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine. Currently the Biomedical Science units are situated in two separate premises and is run by two coordinator - coordinator of Biomedical Science and Coordinator of the Laboratory Unit.

There are seven staff members working in the two units.
The objectives of the Unit are to be able to

1. give clinical and diagnostic services to the proposed Medical school and other referral hospitals in the country
2. To train under- and post-graduate students in their own independent units
3. To train laboratory technicians for Medical Institutes and other Medical research laboratories.
