The Office of Admissions is responsible for admission to the degree program of new students, readmission of students who have withdrawn for various reasons, registration, add/drop of courses, and withdrawals.

Admission to Bachelor Degree Programs at the University of Asmara is based on the Eritrean Secondary Education Certificate Examination (ESECE) or other examinations granted equivalence by the Academic Senate based on the recommendations of the Admission and Placement committee. Other admissions criteria are those approved by the Academic Senate.

A student is allowed to be admitted only once, unless s/he withdrew before earning credits in the University.
